Acne Breakouts |
Information
|
| Breakouts occur when oil deep within small hair follicles or pores becomes waxy and clogs pores. To manage acne, first ensure skin is clean and well-exfoliated. Second, eliminate bacteria which may inflame and infect pores. Products that effectively eradicate bacteria and exfoliate dead skin cells should be used. Benzoyl Peroxide, a popular ingredient in acne products, is only mildly effective at eradicating bacteria and is irritating in higher concentrations. Topical antibiotics lead to resistant strains of bacteria. Thus, antimicrobial cleansers that kill on contact are a preferred option. |
